Pectobacterium and Dickeya spp. detection
A new high performance pectin source for isolation of Pectobacterium and Dickeya spp. on Crystal Violet Pectate media and for enrichment on Liquid Enrichment Medium.
Pectobacterium and Dickeya produce pectinolytic enzymes able to degrade plant cell walls, thus resulting in soaking and tissue rotting in a large range of host plants.
Dr. Valérie Hélias and her team, in collaboration with INRA and with support from the French potato professional organizations GNIS, FN3PT, CNIPT and Arvalis, identified a new pectin source coded AG366, and developed from it two solid semi-selective Crystal Violet Pectate (CVP) media for isolation of Pectobacterium and Dickeya.
They also developed a Liquid Enrichment Medium useful to increase the concentration of these bacteria in culture. These results are reported in detail in the paper: V. Hélias, P. Hamon, E. Huchet, J. van der Wolf, and D. Andrivon, 2011. Two new effective semi-selective crystal violet pectate (CVP) media for isolation of Pectobacterium and Dickeya. Plant Pathology (2011).
Agdia-Emea provides two different formats: 500g and 1kg.
