We announce the commercialization of a new rapid lateral flow test strip which was developed to detect Vip3A protein expressed in transgenic corn, event MIR162 developed by Syngenta Seeds, Inc. (SYN-IR162-4). This protein confers resistance to feeding damage caused by lepidopteran insects by selectively damaging their midgut.

The Vip3A ImmunoStrip^® was specifically developed and validated for trait confirmation testing of seed lots using either individual seeds or leaf material.  This ImmunoStrip^® may also be used for testing bulk grain samples with a detection limit of 1 Vip3A kernel in 500 negative kernels (0.2%).  All Agdia ImmunoStrips are easy to use and are rugged enough for field environments and results are available in as little as 5 minutes.
